Political Minefield

Here we go again... some readers are still complaining that by not accompanying my cartoons with remarks,  or links to the news report that inspire them, I am not letting them enjoy the cartoons as much as they would like to. Some say, I am making them rely on others to interpret the cartoons or remind them of the events or news items that might have inspired the cartoons.

On the other hand, I am encouraged by the readers who say they don’t need to know the news stories behind the cartoons to enjoy them. But as I said some time ago, my preference is not to spoil the fun with silly remarks.

Anyway..... printed below the cartoon is the news story that inspired the cartoon below, just in case you’re wondering what it was all about. It’s proof that most of the cartoons you find on these pages are really hinged on real events or news items that are reported in our newspapers.
